Coca Cola Posters

Originally created by Dr. John S. Pemberton in 1886, Coca-Cola has become synonymous with modern American culture. As such, it's no surprise that Coca-Cola illustrations are one of the leading examples of soft drink art in the United States today. Immortalized through modern pop art after World War II, Coca-Cola artworks have become a beloved icon to collectors around the world.

Coca-Cola illustrations didn't gain nationwide fame until the 1970's, when the trademark Coca-Cola bottle was developed and the company's advertising campaign focused on it being the beverage of summer, good times, and good company. Sales for beverage art, like 'Coca-Cola' by the Coca-Cola company were instantly popular.

However, it wasn't just Coca-Cola posters that made this brand the icon it is today. Coca-Cola had become a part of the urban landscape. Urban paintings such as 'General Store' by Kay Lamb Shannon and graphic pop art images like 'Paradoxe' by Paul Raynal also helped the brand to achieve the infamy that it has today. Rural images also displayed the iconic label of Coca-Cola, as seen in the work 'Drink Cola' by Marianne Caroselli, a sensitive depiction that reveals just how far-reaching the influence of this soft drink company became during that time period.

Although the majority of Coca-Cola illustrations are vintage in nature, many of these pop paintings still influence illustrative commercial artists today. Likewise, art collectors and enthusiasts enjoy these paintings for both their historical value and their depiction of a world freed from war and focused on returning to the lives they lived before.
